Final Paper In this assignment, you will conduct observation research of an individual at a certain life stage. Observation research is a direct observation of phenomena in their natural setting and is often referred to as naturalistic observation. There is no participation and no intervention by you, the researcher. It is simply a study of behaviors that occur naturally in natural settings. The purpose of this assignment is to let you explore and understand how nature and nurture influence human development in the selected stage of the lifespan. This exercise allows examining what is like for the specified stage of the human lifespan while accounting for individual differences.

The paper should be 8 pages of content (i.e., at least 7 full pages and within 8 full pages) written in APA format, and should cover the following content: ● A brief introduction of the individual you observed as well as the life stage they are at. Please use pseudonym to protect confidentiality. ● Your observations and findings of the individual’s behaviors. How did you observe the individual? The observation took place in what kind of setting? What did you notice, and how do these behaviors indicate the person’s physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development? ● A comparison between your findings and the developmental theories.

What findings are consistent and inconsistent with the theories? ● Your analysis of what personal and environmental factors might contribute to the inconsistency between your findings and the developmental theories. Your argument should be supported by research literature (i.e., peer-reviewed journal articles, book and book chapters).
