All students are required to write an individual policy paper on the agricultural policy topic pre-approved by the instructor at the beginning of the semester. See the course outline at the end of the syllabus for the due date of the policy paper. Also, papers must be submitted by uploading them via D2l. In addition, your paper must contain the following.  First and foremost, a Title Page.This is a page that tells the reader the following information. One,the code and the title of the class. Two, the topic of the policy paper. Three, the name of the author and Four,the year of the paper. Secondly,  an abstract of 100-150 words.

In this section, you briefly mention the major purpose and findings of your study. This section is normally written after completing the paper and should serve as a general overview for the entire paper. Thirdly, an introduction of minimum 1 page. In this section, a brief introduction including the history of the policy and its development must be presented. Also, this section has to include a clearly worded research objective (what is it that you are going to analyze). Fourthly, a policy Discussion of a minimum 1 page. whereby, you describe the agricultural policy you have chosen with emphasis. Explaining its key characteristics and dimensions (for example, the policy goals and objectives, key policy provisions, markets/groups affected, etc.).

Then, a policy analysis of a minimum of 2 pages. Analyze the policy and discuss the market effects (what happens to consumption level, production level, and price). In addition to that,who gains and who loses from the agricultural policy you have chosen. If appropriate, I also recommend that you consider including data to illustrate the points pertinent to your analysis. A very good source for such data is the U.S. Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service web site:http://www.ers.usda.gov/

In conclusion, a minimum of 1 page. Summarize the main conclusions of your paper based on the analysis done in the “Policy Analysis” section.
