Concert Review

Concert Review

To begin with you are required to submit ONE Concert Review for this course. Therefore this review counts 10% of your final grade. Prior to covid, this assignment would have had you attend a live concert. Instead, I am providing you multiple pieces to watch to make up a full concert length worth of pieces and music. Additionally please be sure to look up composer information for each of these pieces. The review should be over ALL of the following links: The first piece is George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” performed by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra in 1976 and conducted by Leonard Bernstein, who is also playing the piano solo during the performance. Here is the link to the concert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH2PH0auTUULink (Links to an external site.)

The second piece is Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” arranged for a cappella voice by Alexander L’Estrange. Performed by the classical vocal group known as VOCES8.
