Role & Relationships in culture: Cultural Authenticity Paper (100 pts) Purpose: To help students appreciate the importance of understanding your own culture as a basis for understanding culture relationships in health care. Instructions: Write at least two-pages (~ 1,000 words in APA format) description about your own roots and/or ethnic background, as you understand it both from growing up and now as an adult. It may or may not be your specific lineage but rather what you were exposed to growing up. The term culture can be interchanged with family in below questions. Provide explanation of the following:

Part 1: (10 pts each question) 1. First, what is the social perspective/feelings/attitudes on health, illness, and death, including appropriate rituals/habits? 2. Then, what is the culture’s perspective on hearing about and discussing negative health information? 3. Consequently, what is the standpoint on decision-making, and use of advance directives, informed consent, and client autonomy? 4. Further, how does your culture respond to health issues; crisis, loss, grieving, end of life, pain? 5. Additionally, how does it relate spiritual well-being to health? 6. Consequently, how does it relate to health professionals? 7.
For instance,When a family member is in the hospital; what is the cultures’ response?. Visitors, communicating with nurses/doctors, roles?. Part 2: (10 pts each question) 1. First, explain in what ways family and social customs or culture-bound traditions influence you. 2. Then, explain how personal understanding of your cultural background has changed over time. 3.
