The topic for this paper is Discrimination in the Hiring process of the workplace. Your task is to write a 5 page paper for this. Both sets of directions are below. Follow the guidelines as in the syllabus print, 5 page minimum of written work (does not include cover page, abstract or references. 4 peer review journal articles ( must be the full article no abstracts) 2 of which need to contain a research study, incorporate the research method, instrument utilized to measure outcomes. Of participants in the study, study characteristics (age, race, education etc.. Results of the study and the researchers conclusions.
Depending on the subject matter of the paper an adjudicate court case can be utilized in substitution of one of the peer review research study. If a court case is utilize: incorporate the court case #. List the parties involved, description of case and how it relates to the main topic. State where they file the charges , court where the case was heard (State, Federal or Supreme Court. Verdict (include the # of judges and their opinion, # of dissenting judges and their opinion/reasoning. Settlement or if the case was dismissed (students cannot utilize a synopsis of the court case or an article related to the case. Only the actual court case document). Vague Section above. Students and professor will develop a research topic and the student will have a task to write a 5 page research paper. Utilizing APA format, excluding cover page, abstract and reference page.
Further Description
Further the student shall utilize 4 academic peer reviewed journal articles with-in the body of the text. Therefore two of the four academic peer reviewed journal articles must contain a study. Additionally the student will include the following from the academic research study articles. Objective, Background/Introduction, Design, Participants (subjects). Method, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. Consequently the student will also discuss why the research is relevant to the main topic. Also how and why the research contributes or has implications. If any, on employers, employees, specific departments, and the organization as a whole. Articles that you utilize to provide a background on the main topic that are not peer review journal articles will not count towards the 4 peer review academic journal article requirement.
In addition secondary articles on discrimination cannot be from Wikipedia, newspapers. Online sources, books or any other source that can construe as bias. A reference page, title page and abstract are necessary however they will not count towards the 5 pages of written work. All papers must follow APA 7.0 formatting standards (font, margins, title page, page numbers, reference format, etc.). Five (5) complete “fully” written pages excluding the reference page, abstract, and also include title page. Finally hold quotations utilizing the author’s words needs to a minimum.
Students cannot incorporate more than 2 quotations of any length (not to exceed a sentence) for the entire paper. If you utilize more than 2 quotations we will take off a 40% grade deduction of the final paper grade. We will not derive grades utilizing a rubric with a 150 point total. Finally late research papers or email research papers will NOT be acceptable.
