The aim of this assignment is to examine Erik Erikson’s Eight stages of development, look at each stage and reflect on your life during each stage. Not only is this important for us as social workers, it is equally important for us to know on a personal level. How we respond, our bias, and decision-making process can easily connect back to our own experiences in the developmental stages. People do not become who they are overnight, there are several events, circumstances, choices made good, bad or indifferent that have shaped our attitudes and perceptions of life. For this mid-term assignment, look at each stage and reflect on your life during each stage.

Keep in mind, if we don’t successfully master or receive what we need from each stage that deficiency can carry over into other stages (whether good or bad). In this paper briefly address what was your development stage in each area (up to stage 6)? What do you feel you lacked or didn’t master and it is showing up in Stage 6 (I believe everyone is UNDER 40 in this class except ME) How can reflecting and understanding your own personal development stages help you with dealing with children/youth as a social worker?
