Students can research one specific law or section of a law, an agency charged with enforcement of a law, or a legal issue (contracts; employment practices like hiring, disciplinary action or termination; workplace security, safety practices; etc.) The work should demonstrate an understanding of how risk and legal issues can be addressed effectively in one specific HRT setting, the impact of the issue, and actions an agency should take to comply with legal requirements.

Instructions for the Legal Issues Paper (220 points). Due by September 30. 1. Select one HRT setting you want to study: 1. Hospitality/tourism (hotel, restaurant, cruise line, airline or casino). 2. Recreation (park, sport, aquatics, day camp, military or campus recreation program). 3. Recreation therapy program (medical, city, school or prison). 2. Find one or more current and credible references (other than the textbook). Every reference should focus directly on the HRT setting and legal issue you want to write about.
