Tcherni-Buzzeo (2019), in the assigned reading “The Great American Crime Decline,” reviews some explanations for this decline. (2a) Identify and describe two explanations of the great American crime decline that Tcherni-Buzzeo (2019) discusses.

Unfortunately, soon after the onset of the pandemic the rate of violent crime, specifically homicide and gun-involved assaults, began to increase (in some cases considerably) in several U.S. cities and elsewhere, reversing the trend described above. Grawert and Kim (2022), in the assigned reading “Myths and Realities,” pointed out that one explanation offered for the crime increase that soon followed the start of the pandemic was “the impact of criminal justice reform.” (2b) What do they mean by this AND do they support this position—the increase that followed was attributable to criminal justice reform? https://youtu.be/EXnXQfX8mYU
