You can agree wholeheartedly with the message, providing additional support for the writer’s argument from your own experience, knowledge, and logic. Assessing the Writing Situation Purpose: To respond to specific ideas articulated by another writer. Present the specific evidence and examples to support this response.

Your essay should have a very clear thesis statement that specifically responds to at least three main points from the article. Each point in your thesis statement should be developed as a body paragraph using the PEE structure discussed in class materials: Point, Evidence, and Explanation.
