Worldwar I
Description- world war I
Which era we’ve studied to this point – Reconstruction, the Gilded Age, the Progressive Era, World War I, the 1920s or the Great Depression and the New Deal – had the greatest impact, for better and/or worse, on the freedom of the various peoples living in the United States? A few things here. First, you may choose whichever era you’d like (please choose ONE). Your answer simply needs to be thoughtful (as in full of thought, rather than courteous), thorough, well-defended, and convincing. Second, you’ll need to consider what freedom is; to that end, I want you to consider freedom both as an idea, and as lived experience.
Third, this exam (along with the final exam about world war I) is the most important work you’ll do in this class. This midterm exam (again, along with the final exam) is where I will get the clearest sense of what you have learned in this course of world war. The exams should absolutely be the very best work you do in this class. Fourth, I am not going to require any set format. It needs to be 4-6 pages, double-spaced, 12 font or its equivalent. I should know what your argument on world war right away – in your first paragraph. And as I said, I want you to be thorough. If you focus solely on one issue, one law, one set of people, you will not do as well as if you analyze and argue more broadly. (Okay, so I do have some formatting and other requirements). Other than that, I want you to answer this any way you want. I am far more interested in what you write than how you write. Finally, i just need to be able to understand what you’re arguing, and how.
