You will examine structural components (such as voting laws), constituent factors (parties, demographics), and the candidates themselves. Then you will use these factors to analyze the likely electoral outcomes and their impact. Choosing a Senate Race: I chose the state of Georgia and Senator Raphael Warnock to research; the opponent I will cover is Herschel Walker. I will research both their strengths and weaknesses. 2. What the US Senate is and why is it important 3. Be sure to address what role the Senate plays in governing. (Constitutional requirements, powers duties, terms etc.) 4. The US Senate race you have chosen: the state it is in, the incumbent US Senator, and likely challenger(s) II. Partisanship and State Electoral Institutions: (2 pages) In this section you will assess the potential role played by electoral laws, voters, and political parties. Be sure to consider and address the following factors. Make note of the impact that this may have on the election. 1. How easy is it to register to vote? 2. Do they use voter ID? How can you get a voter ID?
