The aim of community resource project is to create a collection of community resources for families in DeKalb County Illinois. When working with families, there are times when you will need to refer them for assistance.

Become familiar with the local resources in the surrounding communities that you can refer families to. You will create a collection of community resources for families in DeKalb County Illinois. When working with families, there are times when you will need to refer them for assistance. Assistance could be financial, family therapy, child therapy, hearing, vision, clothing, food, special needs, transportation, etc. The list is endless as to what you may need to refer a family to for assistance with you are working in a classroom.

Think about the community resources that families may need in DeKalb County. Keep in mind that the families you work with may be from various levels of income so your referrals or resources should reflect that. This is a long project and cannot be completed the day before it it due. YOU CANNOT PHOTOCOPY OR SUBMIT SOMEONE ELSE’S WORK. You need to create and type up this information and organize it into a list of resources for DeKalb County. You also have the option to create a PowerPoint rather than a list.

Instructor will not accept any work that was put together or created by someone else including anything scanned into this assignment. It will result in a grade of zero. This will take weeks to put together. Information should be typed, Times Roman, size 12, single spaced and well organized into the following categories. You may also want to add graphics to each category. Each referral or resource (agency) in each category should include name, address, phone number, website (if applicable), explanation of services provided, and any other pertinent information that you can give to families.

Categories should have a heading indicating what type of referrals are listed, should be in separate pages (do not mix two or more categories on a single page) and categories need to be submitted in the following order:1. Abuse (5 points) 2. Autism (5 points) 3. Car Seat Installation (5 points) 4. Child Care Centers (need a minimum of 10 licensed child care centers-not home care) (20 points) 5. Child/Youth Activities and Sports (5 points) 6. Dental (5 points) 7. Depression (5 points) 8. Family Counseling (5 points) 9. Family Law (5 points).
