In this assignment, students are expected to explore one of their cultural and social identities in order provide information about their background, how their background has influenced their understanding and awareness of their and others group belonging and exclusion, social awareness of –isms, oppression, privilege, etc., encounters (or lack thereof) with individuals and groups similar or different than themselves within personal and professional relationships. These past experiences and historical information will provide students with insight to their present views of self and recent experiences that have resulted in change or reinforced background ideals, values, and beliefs. Depth, genuineness, and creativity are all encouraged as you write this paper.
