ALIGNING ICD-11 WITH A DSM-5-TR DIAGNOSIS Paper details: Another important tool in diagnosis is the ICD-11—the International Classification of Diseases—which is from the World Health Organization. The goal of the WHO is to ensure consistent measurement of disorders across the world. For example, do the U.S. and India measure substance-related and addictive disorders the same way? In some cases, disorders may appear in the ICD-11 that do not appear in the DSM-5-TR. However, you still need to make a diagnosis that aligns with the DSM5-TR. But how is that accomplished in practice?
