Your final paper is a historical analysis of a contemporary issue in U.S. international relations and engagement with the world. Some questions to consider: § Overarching question: How did we get here? § When does the story begin? § What are the most important milestones or events that help explain how the situation developed to this point? (i.e. What events or developments will your paper analysis include?) § Was there ever a point of no return? § Have historical analyses or understandings of these events changed over time? How did such shifts in historical understanding shape what is happening today?

PAPER GUIDELINES Required Length: 10 pages (double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins) Citation: Chicago style requires both FOOTNOTES in the paper and a BIBLIOGRAPHY on a separate page at the end of the paper.
