Take a look at poverty thresholds at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Look at the most recent data. What are poverty thresholds used for? For a household your size, what is the poverty threshold? How does it compare to a family the same size that live in Alaska? Reflect on this threshold. How much money does that mean per month? Do you think the threshold is adequate for determining who needs assistance? In the essay, draw some comparisons between the people in Born Rich and at least one other group of people you have learned about from other videos or your reading.
