Research Question: How does divorce effect children’s psychological development? Preliminary thesis statement: Children from divorced parents go through many neurological problems. Divorce can affect many aspects of a child’s life in various ways, specifically their mental health, as kids between the ages of 7 and 15 years old that experience divorce have a 15% increase in the risk of behavioural problems than if they’re older. They become exposed to developing anxiety, depression, panic disorders and many more from a very young age. 3 claims, 3 evidence: – Drugs: 1) Living with a busy parent makes it is easier to find drugs due to lack of involvement with their children.

Because of the lack of trust they have as a result of their parents’ divorce, they will find it more difficult to make friends and relationships later in life. 2) The value of a child’s adult interpersonal connections is strongly influenced by the parental role in that child’s upbringing.
