Neff and McMinn Review Assignment

Neff and McMinn Review Assignment. Paper details: For this Paper: Neff and McMinn Review Assignment you will interact with the Neff & McMinn (2020) text and the issues that are raised in each chapter. Based on the idea that integration is conversation from Neff & McMinn (2020), you will incorporate other concepts and ideas you have encountered in this course, in your faith journey, in your work experience, and in other areas of your life. The goal here is that you will not merely regurgitate issues in a book report form, but that you will think deeply about how what you are reading in Neff & McMinn (2020) relates to other ideas you can bring to the conversation.

Neff and McMinn Review Assignment

Consider reflecting on ideas from Scripture, the ACA Code of Ethics, previous textbooks and courses, other materials in this course (such as the Hawkins & Clinton text) and from your personal and work experience. INSTRUCTIONS Total length of text: Roughly 5-7 pages. Use the following criteria to format your Paper: Neff and McMinn Review Assignment: 1. Provide a title page according to current APA standards. Please include an abstract on page 2 about what the paper covers. 2. Part B: Chapters 4-6 & Final Conversation Summary: (Major Heading. Summary should be bold and centered).

Neff and McMinn Review Assignment

After briefly introducing the name of the book (remember, the titles of books and journals in APA formatting are in italics), the book chapters, and the authors, summarize the three chapters in at least 2 pages. Be appropriately concise but also be adequately complete in your ideas. Prove that you comprehend the main ideas by writing a clear and succinct summary. The summary is not a commentary or listing of topics but rather a discussion of the core ideas (main ideas) in the chapters. If you miss the main ideas, you lack an understanding of the complete message of the book.

Neff and McMinn Review Assignment

Cite the book in-text (Neff & McMinn, 2020) at least once per paragraph “and include page numbers for direct quotations” (Neff & McMinn, 2020, p. 123). As a general rule of thumb, if using direct quotations, please limit them to no more than three short quotations per written page. You are encouraged to use your own voice and tell your reader what the authors said, rather than using lengthy quotes. Your professor wants to read what your summary descriiption of the text is. 3. Reflection: (Major Heading, bold and centered).

Neff and McMinn Review Assignment

This section is a 2-4 page critique or evaluation of the authors’ main ideas. If you agree with Neff & McMinn, please communicate that and give coherent reasons. The same goes for anything you may disagree with. You should also consider new questions that arose for you in response to what you have read and explore concerns, implications, etc. Consider also some of the theological implications of what you are reading, and how it relates to your current or future work in the counseling room. Perhaps you have a personal experience that relates to something that Neff & McMinn wrote about that is appropriate to share.

Neff and McMinn Review Assignment

For example, based on your reading of Chapter 1, you may choose to share about a time in your life where you grieved the loss of a loved one yourself. You may need to consider any faulty views of what you might think the role of a counselor is. Also, consider other sources that you have encountered in your life up to this point that relate to this book, such as other textbooks, journal articles, Scripture passages, and even ethical codes such as those in the ACA Code of Ethics (2014) or the AACC Code of Ethics (2014). https://youtu.be/8hNEGglg9ws

Running Away from the Competition. 2022 Best

Running Away from the Competition.

The main ethical issues here are: 1) Should intersexed individuals (or those with elevated testosterone levels) be allowed to compete with female athletes on the international stage (and elsewhere)? 2) Would banning these individuals from competition be a violation of their rights? Would allowing them to compete be a violation of the rights of the other athletes? What should be in your paper: 1) A discussion of the background history and present situation. 2) A discussion of the main ethical issues noted above, utilizing concepts of global ethics (for example, “rights,” “utilitarianism,” etc.).

Running Away from the Competition.

3) Some statement of your feelings on the matter, supported by facts and concepts of global ethics. Some sources to get you started (I expect you to include sources other than these!): 1) Search “intersex athletes” using the fUSIon library catalog: https://www.usi.edu/library. You will find LOTS of useful information there. You can also look up the specific athletes mentioned in the case study, Dutee Chand and Caster Semenya, for more information on their specific cases. There are other athletes out there who have been impacted by these discussions.

2) Here is the most recent IAAF ruling on testosterone eligibility regulations for “female classification” in athletic competitions. https://www.worldathletics.org/news/press-release/eligibility-regulations-for-femaleclassifica. See also links within this document that provide more detail on the regulations. 3) https://www.womenssportsfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/participation-of-intersex-athletesin-womens-sports.pdf 4) https://theconversation.com/ten-ethical-flaws-in-the-caster-semenya-decision-on-intersex-in-sport116448 5) https://digitalcommons.law.wne.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?referer=&httpsredir=1&article=1257&context=fac schol. https://youtu.be/cZ9YAFYIBOU

Journal of Current social issues.

Student Current Events Journal Follow current social issues and events by keeping up with the news. I firmly believe that knowledge of current events is critically important to business professionals and their enterprises. Doing so enables one to be proactive and adaptive. For your journal assignment, you will choose two articles (hard copy or digital, reliable, vetted sources only) pertaining to ethical issues regarding business and society or business and government and write about them. ARTICLES MUST FOCUS ON BUSINESS ETHICS/ACTION/RESPONSIBILITY. The articles should each have a different focus, either a Florida focus, a U.S. focus or an international focus are options.

Journal of Current social issues.

All articles must be timely in that they must have originated within the time frame of your course. In other words, this is not a research assignment in the traditional sense. You must select articles that are published after the date of your first day of the course(08/22/2022). Anything that precedes your first day of starting this course is old! Your written comments should include a brief summary of the article, a thorough stakeholder analysis, and your opinion as to solutions/resolution of the business ethical issues. While student writing styles vary significantly, a concise yet thoroughly developed comment will usually require ¾ to one page per article, not to exceed two pages (12 pt. font, double spaced, no condensed fonts).

Journal of Current social issues.

This is a formal writing assignment. Writing and proofing errors will be penalized. One point per writing error will be deducted, accounting for up to 30% of your grade for this project. To understand the breadth of this subject area and to get ideas as to what types of articles you could look for, familiarize yourself with the text’s table of contents and case study topics, along with this syllabus, for cues regarding article relevancy. Please avoid articles about predominantly social criminal issues that lack a business focus, such as the death penalty.

Journal of Current social issues.

While the ethical importance of such issues cannot be overstated, our course contact hours are too short, and we should confine our exploration to areas with strong business involvement. Many times, business and criminal issues overlap. In such cases feel free to include the article. https://youtu.be/V2W1g7iyNPQ
