The Chicano Perspective.

For topics 5–9, you have examined complex and dynamic social processes that have shaped the Chicanx community in a global context: Topic 6: Gender Empowerment and Family in a global context… (perception/acts of gender equity, double shift, home-host dichotomy); Topic 7a: Understanding Migration and Incorporation (intersectionality and coloniality); Topic 7b: Nationalism, Nativism, and Acts of Exclusion (Nativism); Topic 8: Transnationalism and Nepantla (identity and community formation in-between worlds);

The Chicano Perspective.

Topic 9: Empowerment (Challenging unfair borders and privileging the margins as a site of justice). Two-part final exam (take-home paper): Part I relates to weekly topics. Should be 4-6 pages. Elaborate the main themes/concepts for three weekly topics (see topics above: “6–9”); and discuss how the topics relate to each other. Each topic discussed must cite at least 3 readings from corresponding topic, and final paper should draw from all required class reading sources: books, Canvas, course reader, and videos listed on syllabus.

The Chicano Perspective.

You can include other reading sources, but must use our class readings. Part II relates to praxis (policy) report. Should be 1-2 pages. Apply the Chicanista perspective to assess your praxis report, i.e., how can we advance more humane policies/programs that improve the human condition. Special Instructions Paper must be about 6-8 pages, formal margins, double-spaced, 12-point font size, and in addition include a title page and bibliography (choose a style—e.g., ASA, APA, Chicago— and be consistent in listings). Remember to number your pages. Plagiarizing (copying/using others’ work without acknowledgement/quotes) will result in an automatic course failure and administrative disciplining. https://youtu.be/EKBRverGRGw

Argument in the Republic 2022 Best

Argument in the Republic

For this assignment we will explore Plato’s argument in the Republic: Justice, Psychic Harmony, and Eudaimonia. First Part: Plato’s account of justice is related to his account of the three parts of the soul.

Argument in the Republic

Paper instructions: In addition to having an introduction, your paper should have three parts. The first two parts involve reconstruction. They ask you to explain Plato’s views; in this part, you are encouraged to make use of evidence from the text, e.g., citations that point your reader to where you are drawing from. The last question involves analysis. It asks you to evaluate the argument Plato gives about why we should prefer the just life. First Part: Plato’s account of justice is related to his account of the three parts of the soul.

Argument in the Republic

In the first part of your reconstruction, you should do the following: • Identify the three parts of the soul, and state the proper functions of each part. • Next, state what justice is for Plato and connect it to his account of the soul. Second Part: Plato uses his account of justice to answer the central question of the Republic: “Why be moral?” He does this by contrasting the life of the unjust person—the tyrant—with the life of the just person. He then argues we should prefer the life of the just person over the life of the tyrannical person. For this part of your reconstruction, you should: • Reconstruct Plato’s characterization of the tyrannical person:

Argument in the Republic

What part of their soul seems to lead and what’s one reason why this leads to a bad life? • Next, state and explain at least one of the benefits the just person has over the life an unjust person. Third Question (Analysis): In this part, you’ll evaluate Plato’s argument about why we should prefer to live a just life over living an unjust life. Is the reason you reconstructed a good reason? Why or why not? These questions might help guide your evaluation, but you don’t have to and shouldn’t address them all. In your analysis, you’re aiming to make a single point that you provide reasons for:

Argument in the Republic

Does his conclusion that we should prefer the life of justice follow from what Plato says about the tyrannical person and the just person? • Do the specific examples he uses to establish his general conclusion actually support it or are they too specific and can’t be generalized? • Is there an objection to his argument Plato doesn’t consider; can that objection be answered or does it show his argument doesn’t work? • Are there counterexamples to the argument that show the premises could be true and the conclusion false? https://youtu.be/bsPhxxfPfDw

Power and responsibility 2022 Best

Power and responsibility

For this assignment we will explore why, when a leader advances and assumes more power and responsibility, might s/he encounter more frequent and more difficult ethical problems that must be solved

Power and responsibility

Read 2 articles in Week 9 Readings and Media and discuss the following. Ethics is about right and wrong and choosing the correct behavior. However, it is often more complex. An ethical dilemma, for example, may require choosing between two values that are both “good.” One of our articles discusses the difficult choice between the goal of justice for people and the goal of loyalty to an organization; each is valued and important. Let’s consider ethics and the person who is “climbing the ladder” to more senior leadership roles.

Power and responsibility

Why, when a leader advances and assumes more power and responsibility, might s/he encounter more frequent and more difficult ethical problems that must be solved? To what extent is a leader responsible for the ethics of her followers or constituents or subordinates? Please begin your new post with a Discussion TITLE that is capitalized, to identify your discussion. https://youtu.be/fGH0cyg_tjc
