Paper instructions: Annotated bibliography including 5 articles describing mentoring programs. *Recent journal articles within 10 years. Provide a link to each article under citation** An annotated bibliography is a list of sources (books, journals, Web sites, periodicals, etc.) one has used for researching a topic. Bibliographies are sometimes called “References” or “Works Cited” depending on the style format you are using. A bibliography usually just includes the bibliographic information (i.e., the author, title, publisher, etc.). An annotated bibliography contains a summary and/or evaluation.
Mentoring Programs.
Therefore, an annotated bibliography includes a summary and/or evaluation of each of the sources. Annotated bibliography summaries should include two paragraphs following the APA citation: one paragraph summary of the research article and one brief paragraph including both the assessment of the research article and a single reflection statement of its worth. Each annotated bibliography source should follow the APA format and should not exceed notations longer than two paragraphs. (See the additional information provided below.) Summarize: Some annotations merely summarize the source.
Mentoring Programs.
What are the main arguments? What is the point of this book or article? What topics are covered? If someone asked what this article/book is about, what would you say? The length of your annotations will determine how detailed your summary is. Assess/Evaluate: After summarizing a source, it may be helpful to evaluate it. Is it a useful source? How does it compare with other sources in your bibliography? Is the information reliable? Is this source biased or objective? What is the goal of this source? Reflect: Once you’ve summarized and assessed a source, you need to ask how it fits into your research. Was this source helpful to you? Has it changed how you think about your topic?

Psychological assessment guides
Psychological assessment guides are created by psychology professionals to provide the public with accurate and authoritative information appropriate for their current needs. The information available to the public about psychological testing and assessment vary widely depending on the professional creating it, the purpose of the assessment, and the intended audience. When professionals effectively educate the public on the how, what, and why behind assessments and the strengths and limitations of commonly used instruments, potential clients are in a better position to be informed users of assessment products and services.
Psychological assessment guides
The Assessment Guides developed will be designed to provide the lay public with accurate and culturally relevant information to aid them in making informed decisions about psychological testing. Students will develop their Guides with the goal of educating readers to be informed participants in the assessment process. There is no required template for the development of the Assessment Guide. Be creative while maintaining the professional appearance of their work. While based on scholarly information, the Guide should not read like a research paper. It is to be written like a brochure a professional might give a patient or client who is being referred for testing.
Psychological assessment guides
The Guide must be reader-friendly (sixth- to ninth-grade reading level) and easy to navigate, and it must include a combination of text, images, and graphics to engage readers in the information provided. The Assessment Guide must include the following sections: Table of Contents (Portrait orientation must be used for the page layout of this section.) In this one-page section, students must list the following subsections and categories of assessments. Introduction and Overview Tests of Intelligence Tests of Achievement Tests of Ability Neuropsychological Testing Personality Testing Industrial, Occupational, and Career Assessment Forensic Assessment Special Topics (specify the student’s choice from the “Special Topics” list)
Psychological assessment guides
References Section 1: Introduction and Overview (Portrait or landscape orientation may be used for the page layout of this section.) Students will begin their Guides with a general overview of assessment. In this two-page section, students will briefly address the major aspects of the assessment process. Students are encouraged to develop creative titles for these topics that effectively communicate the meanings to the intended audience. Definition of a Test (e.g., What is a Test?) Briefly define psychological assessment. Types of Tests Identify the major categories of psychological assessment.
Psychological assessment guides
Reliability and Validity Briefly define the concepts of reliability and validity as they apply to psychological assessment. Professionals Who Administer Tests Briefly describe the types of professionals involved in various assessment processes. Culture and Testing Briefly describe issues of cultural diversity as it applies to psychological assessment. Categories of Assessment (Portrait or landscape orientation may be used for the page layout of this section.) For each of the following, students will create a two-page information sheet or pamphlet to be included in the Assessment Guide.
Psychological assessment guides
For each category of assessment, students will include the required content listed in the Testing Pamphlets and Information Sheets. Be sure to reference the content requirements prior to completing each of the information sheets on the following categories of assessment. Tests of Intelligence Tests of Achievement Tests of Ability Neuropsychological Testing Personality Testing Industrial, Occupational, and Career Assessment Forensic Assessment Special Topics (Students will specify which topic they selected for this pamphlet or information sheet. Additional instructions are noted below.) Special Topics (Student’s Choice)
Psychological assessment guides
In addition to the required seven categories of assessment listed above, students will develop an eighth information sheet or pamphlet that includes information targeted either at a specific population or about a specific issue related to psychological assessment not covered in one of the previous sections. Students may choose from one of the following categories: Testing Preschool-Aged Children Testing Elementary School-Aged Children Testing Adolescents Testing Geriatric Patients Testing First Generation Immigrants Testing in Rural Communities Testing English Language Learners Testing Individuals Who Are (Select one: Deaf, Blind, Quadriplegic)https://youtu.be/QM6_0WblPiI

Overview: In this Module, you saw and read about various businesses and their union opposition. Many large employers are trying to create an “alternative” to unions in the workplace. They don’t want to share the decision making with the union. Walmart created a document titled “A Manager’s Toolbox to Remaining Union Free.” It psychs up managers with lines like, “As a member of Wal-Mart’s management team, you are our first line of defense against unionization.” in this assignment, reflect upon the idea of alternatives to unions, and create a two (2) page document based on the instructions below.

The Cuban revolution.
CUBA CIVIL WAR CASTRO CHE GUEVARA. Paper instructions: The final paper is an individual assignment. For this assignment, students will build on their midterm group memo by expanding the case study from their mid-term memo and while relating it to the conceptual and theoretical discussion in the course. Students are asked to focus on one of the topics from class, such as: causes of civil wars; insurgency and/or counterinsurgency doctrine; insurgency and/or counterinsurgency strategy; insurgent organization; counterinsurgency challenges; or conflict outcome, and to apply that discussion to the case study of their mid-term assignment.
The Cuban revolution.
For example, if a student was part of a team that examined the Sri Lankan civil war in the mid-term assignment, then in the final paper he/she should examine the Sri Lankan civil war by choosing one of the following options: 1. The causes of the Sri Lankan civil war 2. Strategies of the main insurgent group, the LTTE, in the Sri Lankan civil war 3. Strategies of the counterinsurgent (i.e., the Sri Lankan government) 4. LTTE strategies 5. LTTE organization 6. Outcome of the Sri Lankan war. By examining any one of these topics, the student should apply concepts and theories in class to the case study.
Here, students could either use the case study to show the applicability of the concepts, but students can also show the limitations of existing concepts and theories to the case study at hand.
The Cuban revolution
Students who wish to stray from the midterm topics and write a final paper that is not related to their midterm can do so, but have to receive instructor approval for their topic. Regardless, all papers must apply concepts discussed in class to a case study. Additional Submission Instructions: • Final papers are “open book,” meaning that students are allowed to use their class notes, and to consult the readings from the syllabus. It is permissible to consult additional reading materials not included in the syllabus, but it is not necessary to do so in order to do well in the papers. •
The Cuban revolution.
It also means that students may not work in teams, and students may not consult each other on how to answer or approach the exam questions. Students are, however, permitted to share class notes. • Papers are to be submitted electronically via the Moodle class website by the deadline noted above. Late submission policies apply. There is a 5% reduction for each 48 hour period of late submission. • The length of a final paper should be between 5-6 pages(not including cover page, endnotes, and bibliography). Papers should be written in Calibri font, 12 pt, double spaced, and standard width margins. Students can submit a paper in Hebrew, in which case please use David font.
The Cuban revolution.
All sources used must be properly documented. Students may use any citation style of their choice, but need to be consistent throughout the paper. Whenever possible, students should cite class readings in their answer, as opposed to making references to the class lectures. • Sources that students should consult include required readings and class notes. It is recommended that students peruse relevant recommended readings. Outside sources that are not on the syllabus are permitted, but students should make sure that these sources are credible (in case of doubt, ask the TA or the instructor). Wikipedia is not a credible source. The Cuban revolution.
The Cuban revolution.
All papers must include a cover page and a bibliography. The cover page should list the course name, date, and the student’s ID number. Bibliographies must include all sources used in the paper (and only those). • Papers are graded based on the following criteria: • Substance of the answers (14/60) – Is the information presented in the paper factually accurate? Does the discussion of the paper pertain to the question posed in the final paper? Is the discussion related to the class, and informed by material pertinent to class? • Logic (14/60) – Are the answers logical and coherent? Are the answers structured in a logical and coherent fashion? https://youtu.be/1wURV75MkJo

Introduction How do historians know what they know? How is what historians know substantiated? What are the limits of historians’ work? These are all important questions to consider when studying any historical subject or era. We take these questions to task in this important assignment that helps lay the foundation for future historical study. Summary Adapted from materials originally from the Library of Congress’s American Memory Lesson, “This lesson introduces students to primary sources—what they are, their great variety, and how they can be analyzed. The lesson begins with an activity that helps students understand the historical record.
How historians study.
Students then learn techniques for analyzing primary sources.” Finally, students apply these techniques to analyze primary sources about the so-called “Savage.” Steps Note: Compile all your responses to the Chapter 17 assignment into one Microsoft Word document that you will submit via the Blackboard Assignment feature. Read the following instructions and information carefully and complete all parts of this assignment. 1. Read completely and carefully the information provided at the end of these steps under the grayed heading “Preliminary Reading for the Assignment.” 2. Next complete in thought and writing the “Mindwalk Activity” provided below these instructions and the information you read in Step 1.
How historians study.
3. Once you have read all the material under the “Preliminary Reading for the Assignment” heading and completed the “Mindwalk Activity,” you are ready to practice your skills with an actual primary source from America in the late 19th century. You will practice by reading the primary source provided under the grayed heading “Primary Source for the Assignment.” 4. After you have read the “Primary Source for the Assignment” on the so-called “Savage,” answer the seven “Questions to Answer on the Primary Source” at the end of this document. Compose your answers based on your reading and interpretation of the primary source, including relevant excerpts from the document to support your responses.
How historians study.
Preliminary Reading for the Assignment Primary and Secondary Sources Historians use a wide variety of sources to answer questions about the past. In their research, history scholars use both primary sources and secondary sources. Primary sources are actual records that have survived from the past, such as letters, photographs, articles of clothing. Secondary sources are accounts of the past created by people writing about events sometime after they happened. For example, your history textbook is a secondary source. Someone wrote most of your textbook long after historical events took place. Your textbook may also include some primary sources, such as direct quotes from people living in the past or excerpts from historical documents.
How historians study.
People living in the past left many clues about their lives. These clues include both primary and secondary sources in the form of books, personal papers, government documents, letters, oral accounts, diaries, maps, photographs, reports, novels and short stories, artifacts, coins, stamps, and many other things. Historians call all of these clues together the historical record. The Historical Record The historical record is huge. It contains literally billions of pieces of evidence about the past. Despite its huge size, the historical record gives us just a tiny glimpse of the past. Most of what happened in the past was never documented. Many sources of information about the past have been lost or destroyed.
How historians study.
Some primary sources were accumulated simply by accident. But some historical sources were created and saved by people interested in recording history. People kept journals, wrote diaries and autobiographies, recorded family trees, and saved business and personal letters and papers. How can the historical record be both huge and limited? What kind of historical records do you leave behind in your daily life? https://youtu.be/YMdCUQF5o5w

Elevated testosterone levels
Topic #2 – Running Away from the Competition. The main ethical issues here are: 1) Should intersexed individuals (or those with elevated testosterone levels) be allowed to compete with female athletes on the international stage (and elsewhere)? 2) Would banning these individuals from competition be a violation of their rights? Would allowing them to compete be a violation of the rights of the other athletes? What should be in your paper: 1) A discussion of the background history and present situation. 2) A discussion of the main ethical issues noted above, utilizing concepts of global ethics (for example, “rights,” “utilitarianism,” etc.).
Elevated testosterone levels
3) Some statement of your feelings on the matter, supported by facts and concepts of global ethics. Some sources to get you started (I expect you to include sources other than these!): 1) Search “intersex athletes” using the fUSIon library catalog: https://www.usi.edu/library. You will find LOTS of useful information there. You can also look up the specific athletes mentioned in the case study, Dutee Chand and Caster Semenya, for more information on their specific cases. There are other athletes out there who have been impacted by these discussions.
