Music Concert Critique

Music Concert Critique: The following concert critique should pertain to that performance. Assigned artist: Dave Brubeck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOzavqnwegM. There are four parts to your Concert Critique, and remember that each section should be roughly equal in length . . . Part One Composer biography This biography doesn’t have to be very long, just enough to get an overview of the composer’s life or importance. Just like in the book. Researching the composer: Sources for biographical research New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (this is the best site!) How to get to New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians Go to CougarWeb Click “Library” tab On right…

Music Concert Critique

“Find Articles” Choose “O” Find “Oxford Music Online” (this contains New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians) Here’s a tip: When you find a biography of a composer in New Grove, there’s a “Cite” icon to the right. It will give you the correct citation to that article. Just choose “Chicago” and then cut and paste! Allmusic.com (short biographies) Naxos.com (look under “composers”) Classical.net (composer master index) Find a book at library WARNING: I realize that many of you will look at wikipedia. I can’t stop you. BUT YOU CAN NOT USE WIKIPEDIA AS A REFERENCE! While researching the composer . . .

Music Concert Critique

Many biographies will mention compositions. This is a good source for background information on a composition. Part Two Brief history of genre I want to see a brief history of the work; when it was written, any interesting facts about its relevance, connections with the composer’s style, etc. Part Three Description/Analysis I want to see descriptions/analysis of the music. Use the analytical tools that are used in book. For instance: What is the texture? (monophonic/polyphonic/homophonic)? Is it a dance tune? Are there word/music relationships? What is the form? Are dynamics used? Is there anything unique about the melody, rhythm or harmony?

Music Concert Critique

Part Four Description of experience Instead of only describing the music, also describe the entire listening experience. What does the venue look like? How do the people act? How big is the production? Is it different than other live music shows you’ve attended? What is the demographic of the audience? Who is the conductor? Are they well known? Feel free to write in “third person,” since you didn’t actually attend the concert. Rules and Regulations The following format rules are non-negotiable. You will be harshly penalized if you don’t use the proper format. Websites like turnitin do not accept files like “Pages.” When submitting your work, I strongly suggest you submit your work as a Microsoft Word document.

Music Concert Critique

Microsoft Word is free to Collin College students within cougarweb. Use “Times New Roman” with a font size of 12 (footnotes are in size of 10) Place your name, MUSI 1306 (add your section number) and date in upper right corner Center the composer, the composition title, and the youtube link Your paper MUST be a minimum of 1700 words (word count pertains to the body of the paper). Penalty for low count. You can only use approximately 50 words in regards to lyrics. Double spaced (So I can see it) Citations You must include two quotes in your writing from two different sources. These quotes can come from internet or print sources.

Music Concert Critique

When you are writing for academic use you must cite other people’s work. If you use the exact words from someone else’s work, you must give that person credit. Here’s a tip: Good writers don’t just throw in quotes. They take a quote and refer to it. They even use quotes to support their own arguments. Check out how I used quotes in my Concert Critique. You must use 2 citations in your writing, and they must be from different sources They can be from an internet or printed source You MUST use “footnote” or “Chicago” parenthetical style citations Footnotes should be “Times New Roman” font of 10 You MUST use “footnote” or “Chicago” style citations, not parenthetical citations. https://youtu.be/eZ2IlGZpI3M

Personal definition of strategic planning.

1. Write a one-two sentence personal definition of strategic planning. 2. Discuss this statement by Roger L. Martin: “. . . good strategy is not the product of hours of careful research and modeling that lead to an inevitable and almost perfect conclusion. Instead, it’s the result of a simple and quite rough-and-ready process of thinking through what it would take to achieve what you want and then assessing whether it’s realistic to try. If executives adopt this definition, then maybe, just maybe, they can keep strategy where it should be: outside the comfort zone.” 3. Business Ethics and Labor Essay 2023 Best

In this business ethics and labor essay we will explore the inherent issues of a democracy that embraces capitalism, and to write about one of these issues in a way that fleshes out its complexities.

Business Ethics and Labor Essay

Rubrics for the “Considering/Writing” Essays Aiming to prepare students for the final Researched Argument Paper, three considering/writing assignments are required at the outset of this course. The first essay asks students to exhaustively consider the inherent issues of a democracy that embraces capitalism, and to write about one of these issues in a way that fleshes out its complexities. Likewise, the second essay challenges students to consider the intrinsic difficulties of an economic system that seeks to be just, and to write about a selected issue in such a way that the complexities are parsed out.

Business Ethics and Labor Essay

Finally, the third essay bids students to consider the essential problems rooted in the workplace and the desire to deal fairly with workers, to write about a single issue so that the intricacies are broken down is some detail, and to locate a particular business journal article for reference. [A research problem is a definite or clear expression [statement] about an area of concern, a condition to be improved upon, a difficulty to be eliminated, or a troubling question that exists in scholarly literature, in theory, or within existing practice that points to a need for meaningful understanding and deliberate investigation.

Business Ethics and Labor Essay

A research problem does not state how to do something, offer a vague or broad proposition, or present a value claim. In philosophy, the research problem establishes the means by which you interrogate the relevant literature, and drives both your argument and implications for new knowledge and understanding]. [A close reading of any scholarly text involves the carefully considered and sustained interrogation of that text specifically in terms of its presentation of the “problem at hand.” A close reading emphasizes the single and the particular over the general, effected by close attention to the ways in which the sentences and paragraphs unfold ideas, as well as the formation of the central philosophical questions.

Business Ethics and Labor Essay

A truly attentive close reading of Ethical Theory and Business, for instance, would excavate the probable ethical questions that are embedded there based on the construction of the text itself]. [A considering/writing essay, therefore, achieves (in a 1-page single spaced composition) a thorough consideration of the “problem at hand,” and then presents in writing the complexities of that problem in order to show the difficulty of arriving at any sort of easy resolve].

Business Ethics and Labor Essay

A template for the considering/writing essay includes: Introducing the reader to the importance of the topic for study. Extracting the “problem at hand” that seems embedded in the scholarly text or discussion. Fleshing or parsing out, in writing, the question in its complexities. Proposing new and better questions as a result of #1-3. https://youtu.be/A9i8dwKC7TE

Personal Philosophy of Education. 2023 Best

Overview Everyone has a personal philosophy of education. A personal philosophy of education guides approaches to a variety of personal and professional settings.

Personal Philosophy of Education.

Personal Philosophy of Education Paper. Assignment Instructions Overview Everyone has a personal philosophy of education. A personal philosophy of education guides approaches to a variety of personal and professional settings. Having explored other educational philosophies, you will now have the opportunity to articulate your own Personal Philosophy of Education. This will help you hone your beliefs and values specifically related to Philosophy of Schools and Learning, Instructional Practice, Teacher-Learner Relationship, Diversity, and perhaps other areas. Instructions This paper is a statement of your personal philosophy of education, which should focus on the purpose of education, which is why education is carried out and not so much how it is carried out.

Personal Philosophy of Education.

Your purpose of education is to emphasize the long-range impact you believe education should have on individuals and society—the outcome of education. As you convey your philosophy, you are to focus on its outcome rather than on the methods, practices, instruction, or classroom activities. Those are tools of carrying out your philosophy; therefore, a simple discussion of teaching strategies does not make up your philosophy of education. As an academic paper, it is to be supported by the body of knowledge in the field, which is to include citations and references to the literature from educational philosophy, psychology, curriculum, and learning theory.

Personal Philosophy of Education.

Treat this as a position statement, a persuasive paper. Make declarative statements of “ought” and “should.” The Personal Philosophy of Education Paper you write has the following requirements: · Write a 4-5-page paper that conveys what is meant by your personal philosophy of education. · Page length requirements begin with the introductory paragraph and end with the conclusion; it includes neither the title page nor reference page in the page count however both a title and reference page should be included as part of the paper submission. · Cite a minimum of five scholarly references that represent the body of literature supporting and explaining your personal philosophy of education.

Personal Philosophy of Education.

Each section other than the introduction and conclusion should include a minimum of 1-2 citations as appropriate to show alignment with the professional literature in the field. · Use few direct quotes in the paper; instead, do more summarizing and paraphrasing than quoting. Citations are required both for direct quotes and for summarized ideas drawn from references. The format of the paper is to include the sections below with headings that follow current APA format. Following the Title Page: Introduction Start with an introduction paragraph. The focus of the paragraph is to introduce the reader to the thesis statement which should be the last sentence of the introductory paragraph.

Personal Philosophy of Education.

Following this introduction, the remainder of the paper should support and illustrate the main point(s) of the thesis statement. Philosophy of Schools and Learning This section should flow smoothly from the previous one and should continue to focus on the “why” of education—the long-range impact you believe schools and learning should have on individuals and society. Save the “how” of education for the next section. · This is the core part of the paper where you expound more specifically on your thesis statement. · State what you believe. Don’t feel obligated to embrace a particularly established philosophy. https://youtu.be/LRQr0Dg00zo
