The essay must include a brief plot summary, and offer a thesis that answers the specific theory-related question(s) about the film (see example questions here: Theory Question Handout Download Theory Question Handout. The essay’s thesis should use a theoretical lens to illuminate particular perspectives, biases, and assumptions that underlie the movie’s story-telling. Your essay should explain how these underlying aspects affect the theme of the movie. Make an argument about the relationship between the film’s storytelling and the critical theory you have chosen.
