Vietnam War. Your essay will be a fictional historical narrative. In this unit, you read actual historical narratives from individuals who lived through an important historical time and wrote about their experiences. You will create a similar piece; however, you will use thorough research instead of personal experience to create your narrative. Your narrative essay will be informative in purpose. Your overall goal should be to describe the event in history that you researched. You will do this by creating a narrative essay through the perspective of a fictional person who witnessed the event. (Your fictional narrator may discuss the significance of this event if appropriate.)
Fictional historical narrative.
Your essay should be written from a first-person point of view. You may choose to write it in the moment as the narrator experienced it or as a journal entry or letter to a friend or relative after the fact. The writing focus of your essay should be creating effective sensory details. Use sensory details to create the feeling that your narrator was actually there. Assignment 3 Part 2: Career Summary and Reflection For Assignment 3 Part 2, you’ll complete a Career Summary and Reflection. You can receive up to 50 points for Part 2. Career Summary Directions: Using only NCCareers.org, the Occupational Outlook Handbook, and/or Ferguson’s Career Guide, research your chosen career. It can be a career that you researched last week for Part 1, or it could be a new career that you’re interested in. Find the following information about the career and type it in a bulleted list at the top of your paper. You must use the information from the above sites; do NOT rely on information you know anecdotally or from personal experience.
Career Summary and Reflection.
Daily tasks: What are the day-to-day responsibilities of this career? This will likely be a list found under the “What They Do” tab in the OOH. Here’s an example. Build and maintain testing procedures and test environment; make and install parts; operate and calibrate computer systems; record data; write and present reports Education and training requirements: What formal credential is required? Is there any licensing or continuing education requirements? At least a Bachelor of Science degree although a graduate degree is usually preferred in fields such as physics or engineering.

License must be obtained and renewed every 6 years. Potential work schedules: Is this job 9-5? Does it require weekend or evening hours? Will you need to be on call? Do you work 3 12-hr shifts? Does the average employee work more than 40 hours per week?
